Tour the workspace

Understand the conversation list, graph canvas, and docked chat pane.

The workspace has three coordinated surfaces: the conversation pane, the graph canvas, and the chat pane. The graph is the primary surface; the other two help you choose a body of work and inspect one path through it.

Conversation pane#

The left conversation pane is your library. Use it to:

  • create a new conversation;
  • select an existing conversation;
  • rename a conversation;
  • delete an entire conversation after confirmation;
  • collapse the pane when you want more canvas space.

Conversation titles are generated from the work and can be renamed. The list is ordered by recent activity.

Graph canvas#

The center canvas shows the selected conversation as connected nodes. Drag an empty part of the canvas to pan and scroll or pinch to zoom. Selecting a node marks it active and opens its path in the chat pane. Lines show parent-to-child relationships; pastel accents make branch families easier to follow.

The graph remains interactive while the chat pane is open. Convography shifts the graph into the visible space beside the pane so the selected node does not disappear underneath it.

Docked chat pane#

The chat pane opens from the left side of the canvas when you select a node. It shows the sequence of messages from the root to that node—not every message elsewhere in the graph.

From the pane you can:

  • send a normal follow-up;
  • send behind the current node;
  • load context without requesting a reply;
  • compare major providers with Send all;
  • run Send All and Synthesize on eligible plans;
  • select files and file scope;
  • choose model controls in Simple mode;
  • inspect citations, included files, response metadata, and exports.

Close the pane with the X to return to an unobstructed graph. Selecting another node opens or immediately updates it.

Workspace actions#

The graph toolbar provides Synthesize on eligible plans alongside Share conversation, Delete selected node, feedback, and the settings menu. Synthesize opens a temporary selection mode with checkboxes on eligible graph nodes and a fusion-instructions field. The settings menu links to Account settings, this Documentation suite, and the intro-tutorial replay action. A node context menu adds Branch color, Share branch, Split conversation, and Delete. On a pointer device, open it with a right-click; on touch, use the available long-press interaction.

Mobile layout#

On smaller screens, Chat and Graph use separate views. Use Graph to open the canvas and Chat to return to the selected path. The conversation shortcut and new-conversation action stay available in the graph controls. Double-tap a graph node to open its path on mobile.
