Models & providers
Choose a usage mode and understand app-managed provider availability.
The Models & Providers tab controls how much routing choice appears in the workspace and shows current provider/model availability.
Choose a usage mode#
Two modes are available:
| Mode | Workspace behavior |
|---|---|
| Auto | Hides model, reasoning, and hosted-tool controls; the server chooses an allowed route |
| Simple | Shows guided provider/model selection plus supported reasoning and Web controls |
The selection is saved to your profile. Switching mode does not rewrite existing message metadata or change answers already generated.

App-managed provider access#
Current plans use app-managed access for OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, and Grok routes made available by the service. Provider cards show availability, but member-entered API keys are reserved for future BYOK plans and are not part of the current setup workflow.
Never send a provider key to support or paste one into chat because a provider card appears unavailable.
Read the model catalog#
In Simple mode, the page displays visible current models grouped by provider or model family. Status can include Available, Validated, Not validated, or Unavailable, with a reason or last test information when applicable.
Managed models can be sendable without member validation. Some image models are listed through image-specific availability rather than a billable text-validation request.
For the current eligibility snapshot across Trial, Core, Pro, and Max, see Model availability by plan. The matrix is checked against application routing policy in continuous integration.
Refresh status#
Choose Reset to refresh provider and model information. If the page says model access is temporarily unavailable:
- wait briefly and refresh once;
- check whether the workspace shows a plan or usage restriction;
- contact support if no sendable model returns.
Repeated validation attempts can fail together when a provider reports quota, credit, or billing limits. Convography stops the batch for that provider rather than continuing unnecessary attempts.
Availability changes#
The catalog is a live policy surface. A model can be added, renamed, grouped, restricted, or disabled as providers and application policy change. Documentation describes controls and workflows, not a permanent promise that a particular model ID will remain selectable.
