Preview, download & delete files

Open graph file nodes, download individual files or ZIPs, and remove files safely.

Files can be previewed from graph relationships and managed from the account library. Preview support depends on format and browser capability; download remains the fallback.

Preview from the graph#

Select a connected file node or open the file list attached to a message node. Convography can render:

  • images;
  • audio and video with browser controls;
  • PDF and safe document views;
  • plain text and source files;
  • Markdown with formatted headings, lists, code, and tables.

For unsupported formats, the preview explains that it is unavailable and provides a download action when possible.

Some generated HTML, SVG, DOCX, or ODT artifacts are isolated or sandboxed for safer preview behavior. A preview is not a guarantee that active content is trustworthy.

Download a file#

Use the file row action in Account settings → Files, the graph preview footer, or the attachment action under a message. Convography requests a fresh signed URL for owner-authorized downloads. These URLs expire, so regenerate the download from the interface instead of bookmarking it.

Select several files in the library to download a ZIP. Bulk actions are limited to 100 files.

Delete files#

  1. Select one or more files in the library.
  2. Choose Delete.
  3. Read the warning that deleted files cannot be recovered and will no longer be available to conversations.
  4. Confirm.

Deletion removes the account-owned file record and begins storage cleanup. It can affect past conversations that display or depend on the file. Export or download a copy first when retention matters.

If a download fails#

Refresh the library and try the action again to obtain a new signed URL. If the file was deleted, quarantined, or partially cleaned up, it may no longer be recoverable. Contact support with the file name and approximate creation time, not a stale signed URL.
