Generate images

Request images, understand grounding details, and download generated results.

Convography can route image generation and editing prompts through plan-appropriate, available image models. Generated images are stored as file artifacts and attached to the response node.

Request a new image#

Describe the subject, composition, medium, lighting, aspect or orientation, and important exclusions. If you need several distinct outputs, state the count clearly.

Create three editorial illustrations of a branching research process.
Warm cream background, deep green line work, subtle pastel branch accents,
landscape composition, no text or logos.

Auto can infer an image task when the capability is available. In Simple mode, a visible image-capable route can be selected directly. Available models and output options vary by Core, Pro, or Max tier and live provider status.

Edit or continue an image#

Attach or select the reference image and describe what should change and what must remain. Branch-local image lineage helps continuity prompts resolve the most recent relevant image, including a named character or a clear request such as changing a background material.

For reliable edits, be explicit:

Using the selected kitchen image, change only the upper cabinets from painted
wood to walnut. Preserve the layout, camera angle, lighting, and every appliance.

If no eligible image exists on the selected branch, Convography returns a missing-reference error instead of editing an unrelated image.

Understand result metadata#

Generated attachments can show provider, model, quality, requested resolution, actual pixel dimensions, reference-image count, and grounding sources. Select the image or use Download image to save it.

Grounded image requests#

Some supported Gemini image routes can use web or image search for named places, products, or current visual facts. Grounding details list source links or provider search suggestions when available. A generated image remains synthetic even when grounded; sources do not make every visual detail factual.

Failures and usage#

Safety blocks, provider errors, unavailable tiers, missing references, unsupported formats, and usage limits surface as chat errors. Image work can consume materially more credits than short text; request only the count and resolution you need.
